President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe said that she will participate in the “Russian Ski Track” race on February 10 RIA News.

Vyalbe is a three-time Olympic champion and 14-time world champion. He ended his sports career after the Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998.

In the spring of 2022, the International Ski Federation (FIS), following the recommendations of the IOC, decided to suspend Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until the end of the season. This decision was later extended. Russians compete only in local tournaments.

In February, Russian skiers compete in the “Spartakiad of the Strongest” from February 9 to 18. The tournament is held in five regions of Russia: Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk regions.
