Spartak Moscow defender Nikita Chernov shared his opinions about the newly joined striker Manfred Ugalda. His words are quoted “Match TV”.
“We obviously have a lot of guys who speak Spanish. He is closer to them, they are trying to add him to the team. And so a good and trained football player constantly runs from behind and presses. We didn’t have such a striker.

Manfred Ugalde moved to Spartak in January 2024 for €13 million + €2 million bonus. The striker made his debut for the red-whites in the match against Rostov.
The striker, who played 25 matches in all competitions for Twente this season, recorded 9 goals and 7 assists in these matches.
In the summer of 2023, Spartak loaned two forwards Keith Balde and Shamar Nicholson. For most of the season Alexander Sobolev remained the main striker.
