Candidate of Psychological Sciences Alexander Neveev said that in the story of Russian Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, who turned to the National Hockey League (NHL) for help, the life situation in which the person finds himself will play a big role. Kuznetsov decided to apply for the National Hockey League player assistance program, which aims to address psychological problems linked to alcohol and drug abuse and gambling addiction, among other things.

Kuznetsov has been playing for the Capitals since 2014, and before that he played only for Traktor Chelyabinsk. His contract with Washington runs through 2025 with an average salary of $7.8 million per season.

The Russian player played in 43 games in the National Hockey League this season and scored 6 goals and 11 assists.

The Capitals sit 12th in the Eastern Conference standings after 47 games. The team is 5 points behind the play-off zone.
