Former Sochi midfielder Christian Noboa said he could continue the procedure for obtaining a Russian passport “Sports Express”.
“The documents were supposed to be done now, in February-March. And since I’m in Ecuador right now, I can’t sign these. This is why you were stopped. Maybe I’ll do it again in the future,” Noboa said.
Noboa has been playing in Russia since 2007. As part of Rubin Kazan, the midfielder played 159 matches, twice became the champion of Russia and once won the country’s Super Cup. Noboa played 92 matches for Dynamo Moscow and then moved to Rostov (64 matches), where he became the silver medalist of the championship. The player joined Zenit St. Petersburg in 2017. He moved to St. Petersburg (22) and again became the champion of Russia.
The midfielder has played in Sochi since 2019 (116). Noboa was named the best RPL player of the 2021/22 season according to the Russian Football Union (RFU).
