Kushanashvili tells about Russian football players: They have “Poplar feathers” on their heads during the anthem 08:43

Journalist Otar Kushanashvili criticized the way Russian football players listened to the national anthem before the match. Sports24.

“Players of other national teams cry during the anthem. The Poplar Feather of the Russians is playing in their minds,” Kushanashvili said.

In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. Since then, Russian teams have played only friendly matches.

In 2023, the Russian national team played six friendly matches and won three against Iraq (2:0), Cameroon (1:0) and Cuba (8:0). On March 21, 2024, Russia will play against the Serbian national team in Moscow. The match will be played in Moscow.
