The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov, sharply stated that he has questions about the investigation into the doping case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. His words are quoted TASS.
“This is one of the most shameful decisions in world sport. Kamila is the pearl of figure skating, she was created for this sport. I watched his performance in Beijing, it was truly incredible. The investigative process itself also raises questions. This is the fascist behavior of the Anglo-Saxons,” said Zyuganov.
On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) disqualified figure skater Kamila Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules due to the presence of a banned substance in her blood.
This did not prevent the athlete from competing at the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he won the gold medal in the team tournament. On January 30, the International Skating Union (ISU) awarded gold to the US team and silver to the Japanese team, giving the Russians third place.
In the individual championship, the Russian woman took fourth place. This did not affect medal distribution.
