Russian player was recognized as the second star of the day in the NHL

Tampa Bay Lightning’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov became the second star of the last match day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by the league’s press service.

On the night of January 26, Moscow time, Tampa beat the Arizona Coyotes. Kucherov scored one goal and two assists. He returned to first place on the NHL season’s top scorers list with 83 points. Kucherov played in 48 games in the NHL this season and scored 32 goals and made 51 assists in these games.

In total, he scored 812 points during his league career, surpassing Sergei Gonchar, who had 811 points, on the list of the best Russian scorers in NHL history.

The first star of the day was Montreal Canadiens’ Canadian forward Sean Monahan, who scored two goals and an assist against the New York Islanders (4:3). Detroit Red Wings’ American goalkeeper Alex Lion, who stopped all 30 shots in the match they beat Philadelphia Flyers 3-0, was selected as the third star.
