Former Spartak coach could manage Italy’s current champions

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is searching for a new coach to lead the team before the start of next season. Among the candidates for this position is Domenico Tedesco, former coach of Spartak Moscow. This was reported by “Sports Express”.

Tedesco now occupies a similar position with the Belgian national team. He took the national team to the final in the 2024 European Championship. After the end of the tournament, his contract with the Belgian national team will expire.

Napoli is currently managed by Walter Mazzarri. The team under his leadership is in ninth place in Serie A.

Tedesco took charge of Spartak from 2019 to 2021. The red-whites finished the 2020/21 season in second place under his leadership. He was appointed head coach of RB Leipzig in December 2021. He was sacked following the Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in September 2022.

He took charge of the Belgium national team in February 2023. In the new coach’s first match, the team defeated Sweden with a score of 3-0. Romelu Lukaku scored a hat-trick.
