Five players who played for Canada’s youth team at the 2018 World Cup must report to police in London, Ontario, to face sexual assault charges. This was reported by Globe and Mail.

According to the publication’s sources, hockey players raped a woman in a hotel room in June 2018, right after honoring the national team for winning the MFM.

The police investigation was initially closed in February 2019 without any charges. In April 2022, an unnamed woman filed a lawsuit against Hockey Canada, the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CHL) and eight players, seeking $3.55 million in damages.

In particular, Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube and Philadelphia Flyers goalkeeper Carter Hart were among the players of the 2018 Canada Under-21 Team. Both were recently granted indefinite leave from their respective clubs.
