UFC champion admits he had nightmares because of Makhachev

American MMA fighter Sean O’Malley, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight champion, admitted on his YouTube channel that he once had nightmares about a Russian athlete who held the promotion’s lightweight championship belt, Islam Makhachev.

“Islam is a very scary man. One day I had a nightmare where I had to fight him. I woke up and said to myself: “Thank God, this is a dream!” Makhachev has been extensively developed, he is a very experienced fighter. “I think Makhachev is next level,” he shared.

Makhachev’s next fight will be on June 8 against American Justin Gaethje.

On October 21, 2023, Makhachev scored an early victory over Australian Alex Volkanovski in the main fight of the evening at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi. The Russian player defeated his opponent by knockout in the first round and defended his title for the second time. He now has 25 wins in 26 fights.

On February 12, 2023, Makhachev defeated Alex Volkanovski by unanimous decision after five rounds at UFC-284. This was the Russian’s first title defence.
