The Arizona Coyotes became the first team in National Hockey League (NHL) history to score a power play goal while maintaining a numerical advantage in a game without taking a single shot on the opponent’s goal. This was reported by the team’s press service.

This happened in the NHL’s regular season game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Russian Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin helped achieve the feat.

The Russian forward played a role in Arizona’s fourth goal. The Coyotes won a power play and replaced the goaltender with a sixth player, but Malkin, close to his team’s empty goal, failed to handle Kris Letang’s pass and tipped the ball into his own goal.

The match ended with Arizona winning by a huge score of 5:2.

This NHL season, Malkin played in 44 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins and recorded 15 goals and 23 assists. During his career, the Russian hockey player has a total of 1267 points (486+781) in the regular championships of the National Hockey League.

Previously Kirill Kaprizov acceptedthat he was angry about the losses.
