Former football player of the USSR and Russian national teams Alexander Mostovoy supported the appointment of Dmitry Kombarov to the post of head coach of Spartak-2 “Sports Express”.
“It’s good that Spartak-2 is being revived. Because it is strange that such a big club does not have a second team. “It is a good thing that Kombarov was appointed and not a foreign name,” Mostovoy said.
Kombarov played for Spartak from 2010 to 2019. During this time, he managed to win the national championship and the Russian Super Cup with the team, winning both championships in 2017. In 2022 Kombarov will return to St. He became the head coach of St. Petersburg Zvezda.
The decision to revive Spartak’s second team was made by the club management in 2023. Spartak-2 will start playing in one of the lower groups of the Second League in the 2024/25 season.
