Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has agreed to lead Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab team. This was reported by awsat.

According to the source, Mourinho had a video meeting with Al-Shabab’s sporting director Dominico Tite. His candidacy was reportedly approved by the Saudi Professional League recruitment committee. Mourinho is expected to fly to Riyadh in the coming days to finalize the contract terms. The team currently sits 11th in the Saudi Pro League this season. The club hasn’t won a cup for 10 years.

On January 16, Italian Roma announced that Mourinho had resigned as manager. He has been working at the club since May 2021. The Portuguese led the team to victory in the Conference League in the 2021/22 season. Roma were finalists in the Europa League last season.

Mourinho is known for his work at Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham. He became the English champion three times with Chelsea, the Italian champion twice with Inter, and the La Liga champion once with Real Madrid.
