Russian chess player Valentina Gunina told how she struggled with lupus “Sports Express”.

The chess player admitted that he felt unwell six years ago but was diagnosed in 2023.

At the World Blitz Championship held in Samarkand, Gunina won the tournament by defeating Ukrainian Anna Muzychuk in the 17th round. After the match, Muzychuk refused to shake the Russian’s hand.

34-year-old Gunina started the tournament with seven wins in a row and managed to maintain her lead until the decisive round. He won by 14 points in 17 rounds.
