Russian forward and National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin was unable to fully train with the team. This was reported by Hockey News.
According to the publication, the 38-year-old hockey player went to morning training but had to finish training early. It is not yet known whether Ovechkin will be able to play in an NHL regular season game against the Seattle Kraken on January 12.
Before that, Ovechkin had missed both Washington practices. In the match against the Los Angeles Kings on January 7, the Russian player made an assist. For the forward, it was his sixth scoring attempt in the last five consecutive games in the National Hockey League. The Russian player played a total of 38 matches on the ice this season and recorded 8 goals and 18 assists.
In total, Ovechkin scored 830 goals during his time in the NHL. He is behind Wayne Gretzky, who holds the league record for most goals in NHL history with 64 goals.
