Marina Yashina, the personal trainer of the deceased 20-year-old Russian short speed skater Anastasia Sereda, explained the details of the athlete’s death. His words were quoted TASS.

“The athlete fell ill a month ago, was admitted to the Ufa hospital due to an infectious disease. We all hoped that everything would be okay, but unfortunately he passed away yesterday. I don’t know the exact diagnosis. He needs to be brought to Saransk today, a funeral is planned tomorrow. There was a terrible tragedy,” said Yashina.

Sereda’s death was previously reported by the Russian Skating Union. He is a master of sports in short track speed skating. In the competition, the girl won St. Represented St. Petersburg and Mordovia. The athlete was among the 6 strongest short track speed skaters in Russia in 2019.

In 2022, this athlete won the Russian Cup as part of the relay team.
