Oleg Romantsev, former football player and coach of Moscow Spartak, talked about how he coped with criticism against him. His words are quoted “Match TV”.
“I listen to people I respect and am interested in. Although I’m not very familiar with them. The great Yuri Nikulin once said: “If you want to take revenge on your enemy, be happy, he will not survive this.” Good idea. What could be better? I lived a happy life. “I was doing what I love very much,” said the expert, who turned 70 on January 4.
Oleg Romantsev coached Spartak from 1989 to 2003. Under his leadership, the red-whites became champions of the USSR, eight-time champions of Russia, winners of the USSR Cup and three-time winners of the Russian Cup.
In 2009-2012 he was an advisor coach of Spartak and then retired from active work in football.
Romantsev coached the Russian national team from 1994 to 1996 and from 1998 to 2002. Under his leadership, the national team reached the finals of the 1996 European Championship and the 2002 World Championship.
