Oleg Romantsev, former head coach of Spartak Moscow and the Russian national team, was named the best foreign player of the Russian Premier League (RPL) in 2023. He shared his opinion with him “Sports Express”.
“Quincy Promes is the best foreign player. I wish him to maintain his health and level. Our team really needs him,” Romantsev said.
Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. He previously played for the red and whites between 2014 and 2018. The Dutch player became the Russian champion with the team in the 2016/17 season.
This RPL season, Promes made 17 appearances, scoring six goals and providing six assists.
The red and whites, led by Guillermo Abascal, ranked fifth in the Russian Premier League in the first half of the season, collecting 30 points in 18 weeks. The Muscovites are eight points ahead of leaders Krasnodar and national champions Zenit St. It was six points behind St. Petersburg.
Previously was named RPL player “around whom all football revolves”.
