Ruslan Nigmatullin, the former goalkeeper of the Russian national team and Lokomotiv Moscow, who lives in the USA, also talked about why he misses abroad the most and the foods he misses. His words guide the way RT.
“By the circle of people and communication that surrounds me. There are many Russian-speaking people in Miami, but these are quick acquaintances. I have friends here for life. Russian, Caucasian and Tatar cuisine was still lacking. I miss borscht and meatballs. Of course, they are also available in the US, but they are not as tasty,” Nigmatullin said.
Nigmatullin is known in Russia for his performances not only for Lokomotiv, but also for CSKA, Spartak, Terek and SKA. The goalkeeper managed to play for Salernitana and Verona in Italy, and for Maccabi Ahi in Israel, where he retired in 2009.
After completing his career, Nigmatullin linked his life with music and became a DJ. He performed in different countries of Europe, America and Turkey.
In November 2023, Nigmatullin was included in the squad for the retro match between Lokomotiv and CSKA.
