50-year-old goalkeeper Nikolai Khabibulin will earn 7 million rubles under his contract with the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club Torpedo “Match TV”.
The goalkeeper’s contract with the club is valid until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Khabibulin has been serving as Torpedo goalkeeper coach since 2022. The goalkeeper played for CSKA Moscow, Ak Bars Kazan, National Hockey League (NHL) clubs Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks.
Together with the national team, Khabibulin became the winner of the 1992 Olympics and the bronze medalist of the 2002 Games.
Torpedo is in fifth place in the Western Conference standings with 57 points. Spartak from Moscow is the leader with 63 points.
Torpedo will play against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the next match. The meeting will take place on December 28.
