Two-time world, European and Russian champion Evgenia Medvedeva, who played the role of the ideal cow Muli in Ilya Averbukh’s New Year’s play “Cow on Ice”, told how she feels about the expression “cow on ice”.

“Whatever they call me, it’s not just coaches, it’s people in general. At first, when they told me I would probably play nerd on ice, I felt dissonant: “What? Am I a nerd? But then I realized that this statement had nothing to do with me. If I were really a nerd on ice, I wouldn’t have won two world championships,” Medvedeva said before the premiere of the show.

The figure skater emphasized that she had no qualms about having to take to the ice in a cow costume because she did not associate herself with this negative nickname.

“I have good self-esteem, so I am the dream of the Muli cow,” Medvedeva said.

The 24-year-old figure skater won a silver medal twice at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games and set historic world records in the free program and total points.

Previously Medvedev Discovery of the year was chosen in figure skating.
