Former head coach of Spartak Moscow, Massimo Carrera, chose striker Quincy Promes as the team’s best player in 2023, in a statement to Sport Express.
“I think Promes has been Spartak’s best player in recent years. And this year too!” – said the Italian expert.
Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. He previously played for the red and whites between 2014 and 2018. Promes played in 17 matches and scored six goals in this season of the Russian Championship. In the Russian Championship standings, Spartak is in fifth place with 30 points.
Carrera worked at Spartak from 2016 to 2018, first as Dmitry Alenichev’s assistant and later replacing him as head coach. He is the first foreign specialist in the history of the club who managed to win the gold medal at the Russian Championship in his first season.
In 2017, the Italian led Spartak to the championship title and Super Cup victory. In 2018, the capital club, led by an Italian specialist, finished third in the rankings.
