Ratcliffe’s purchase of Manchester United shares has been announced

INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchased a 25% stake in the English club Manchester United for 824 million euros. This was reported by the UtdPlug account on social networks.

Ratcliffe paid this amount to the six Glaser brothers.

Ratcliffe will invest 300 million euros in infrastructure at Old Trafford; 200 million Euros of this will be paid after the completion of the agreement, and 100 million Euros will be paid by the end of 2024. Ineos will take control of United’s football operations.

Prior to this, Mancunians were owned solely by Joel and Avram Glazer, who bought Manchester United for $1.34 billion in 2005.

Manchester United ranked eighth in the English Premier League (EPL) with 28 points after 18 weeks this season. The Red Devils failed to advance through the group stage of the Champions League and will now play in the play-offs in the Europa League. London Arsenal are leading the English Championship with 40 points.

Manchester United will face Aston Villa in the next round of the Premier League. The meeting will take place on December 26.
