Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov was named the first star of the final game week of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season.
The 26-year-old Russian has seven points (four goals and three assists) in four games. He scored in overtime against the Boston Bruins (4:3) and the Montreal Canadiens (4:3), becoming the second player in team history to score in two consecutive overtimes.
Kirill Kaprizov played 32 games in the NHL this season and scored 12 goals and 19 assists.
During last season’s regular season, Kaprizov was the fifth most productive Russian behind Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Artemy Panarin and Nikita Kucherov.
The second star of the week was Swedish New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad, who scored seven points (4+3) in three matches. The third star was Detroit Red Wings’ American forward Patrick Kane, who scored eight points (4+4) after four matches.
