Television host and actress Anfisa Chekhova spoke on the program “Around the World” about the possibility of taking a leading part in Marius Weisberg’s film “Love in the City.”

She explained, “I could build a career like that if I land this role. The film “Love in the Big City” boasted Vera Brezhneva and Svetlana Khodchenkova among its leads, with another actress not readily recalled. The role of a sex therapist, which Khodchenkova ultimately played, was written with me in mind,” Chekhova asserted.

Chekhova noted that Weisberg himself told her the part of the sex therapist was tailored to fit her public persona. She mentioned that shooting dates were arranged, but when Liza Boyarskaya declined to participate, Vera Brezhneva stepped in. Chekhova added that Svetlana Khodchenkova was ultimately chosen for the role instead.

“Liza couldn’t do it, and Vera Brezhneva was brought in. She performed within a limited budget. And I was left out,” Chekhova remarked.

Recently, Anfisa Chekhova disclosed that she has not hosted a New Year’s Eve event for twenty years. She described this as a conscious choice and revealed that she cannot imagine accepting a holiday host gig at that scale again.

In related industry news, Agata Muceniece had previously stated that Bortich took on the project in “Fisher.”
