Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Dmitry Svishchev commented on the appeal of the Ukrainian Football Federation (UAF) to the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) demanding a ban on football competitions. It was reported that a friendly match was held between Russia and Serbia “Sports Express”.

“I don’t even understand, what does Ukraine have to do with it? If they are not interested, they should not watch the broadcasts. They need to pay attention to domestic football, there are many problems there,” Svishchev said.

The match between Russia and Serbia will take place on March 21, 2024 at the Dynamo stadium in Moscow.

The national teams of Serbia and Russia have met six times in their history. The Russian team has three wins, the Balkan team has one win. Two more matches ended in a draw. Serbs and Russians last met at the League of Nations in November 2020. Then the Serbian team won a crushing victory with a score of 5:0.

Previously UEFA punished Ukrainian Football Federation.
