Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Games silver medalist Alexander Enbert, in his conversation with socialbites.ca, evaluated the chances of Kamila Valieva, Adelia Petrosyan, Sofia Muravyova and Alina Gorbacheva to compete for gold at the Russian Figure Skating Championships.

“It’s a pretty even fight in the women’s singles, and we’ve seen that in the Grand Prix stages as well. There’s no clear favourite. All the girls of these four are trying to do ultra-si elements. Valieva, Petrosyan, Muravyova and Gorbachova have triple axels and quad-revving jumps in their arsenal. Everything will depend on the purity of the application.

If we move away from the content and consider skating, all else being equal, Kamila’s skating skills and ability to convey visuals will allow her to score more points in the second evaluation. However, I think we will see very close scores after the second day of the women’s singles competitions,” said Enbert.

Russian Figure Skating Championships are held in Chelyabinsk. Women will perform the short program on Friday, December 22, and the long program on Saturday, December 23.

Former Games medalist named The most interesting event of the Russian Championship.
