Secretary General of the Serbian Football Union Jovan Surbatovich spoke about the place and time of the friendly match with the Russian national team. His words are quoted Sports24.
“We received permission from UEFA and agreed with the RFU to hold a friendly match between our teams. The match will be played at the Dynamo Stadium in Moscow on March 21,” Surbatovich said.
The national teams of Serbia and Russia have met six times in their history. The Russian team has three wins, the Balkan team has one win. Two more matches ended in a draw. Serbs and Russians last met at the League of Nations in November 2020. Then the Serbian team won a crushing victory with a score of 5:0.
In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
From spring 2022, Russian clubs and the national team will only play friendly matches against foreign opponents.
Previously Bystrov in the name Karpin will choose between the Russian national team and Rostov.
