At the last meeting, the Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) discussed the issue of moving to Asia. This was reported by “Sports Express”.
According to the publication, all members of the board consider that a move to Asia without the guarantee of the International Federation of Football (FIFA) does not make sense. The RFU will continue its efforts to return to international competition through the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
In the autumn, UEFA decided to allow the Russian national team to participate in the selection for the European Under-17 Championship, but has not yet found a technical solution. RFU president Alexander Dyukov said that it continues its activities and may participate in the selection of the Russian team at the next Euro (U-17).
In the spring of 2022, FIFA and UEFA decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
