Russian tennis player had to play with a man in the final of the tournament in France

16-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva was defeated in the final of the exhibition tournament held in Bourg-de-Page (France). In the final match, the Russian woman was supposed to meet with Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, but she refused to enter the field. As a result, Andreeva faced French tennis player Yanis Ghazouani Duran in the final and lost with scores of 5:7 and 2:6.

Andreeva had previously beaten former Russian Varvara Gracheva in the semifinals of the tournament in France. The girl has been representing France in international tournaments since 2023.

Andreeva is ranked 57th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Polish representative Iga Swiatek continues to lead with 9,295 points. She was followed by Belarusian Arina Sabalenka with 9,050 points. US representative Cori Gauff ranks third with 6,580 points. Lyudmila Samsonova is the best Russian woman in this ranking. She ranks 16th with 2,650 points. Also in the top 20 are Russians Daria Kasatkina and Veronika Kudermetova (18th and 19th respectively).
