Former goalkeeper of Moscow Spartak, Artem Rebrov, said the following in his column: sports.ru About the conflict between striker Artem Dzyuba and coach Unai Emery in 2012.

“Emery’s relationship with Dzyuba was really difficult. Artem had the number ten at the time, and Unai often remarked that it meant a lot. He said that important people in Spartak carry this number and they must comply with it. It seems to me that such things bothered Dzyuba.

I wouldn’t say they had an open conflict, but there were definitely minor misunderstandings. They should have sat down and discussed their grievances with each other, but they didn’t. After all, everything ended with a “trainer”.

I was nearby when Dzyuba was talking about the “coach”. I don’t think there is a sneaky plan hidden in this, I don’t think Artem deliberately extinguished the coach by asking for resonance. It’s just a tender defeat, it was emotional, he walked and blurted it out. As a result, this statement caused such a scandal,” Rebrov wrote.

Unai Emery worked at Spartak for less than six months. His last match as the coach of the red-whites was against Dinamo Moscow (1:5). Artem Dzyuba called Emery “coach” after this match.

After leaving Spartak, he worked for Sevilla, PSG, London Arsenal and Villarreal. Emery has been in charge of Aston Villa since 2022.

During this time he managed to win the Europa League four times (with Sevilla and Villarreal), as well as leading PSG to victory in the French Championship and winning the National Cup twice. He was chosen as the best coach in Europe in the 2013/14 season.

Previously “RB Sport” reportedSpartak captain may go to a contender.
