It has been reported that referee Rebecca Welch will be the first female referee to referee a match in the English Premier League (EPL). press service LondonFulham.

Welch will be the chief referee for Fulham’s match against Burnley. The match will be played on December 23.

In January 2022, Welch became the referee for the fourth round of the FA Cup.

In July, the FA planned to recruit 50% more referees from “historically underrepresented” backgrounds by 2026.

Fulham are in tenth place in the English Championship standings with 21 points. Burnley is in 19th place with 8 points. Fulham and Burnley last met in May 2021. Then Burnley won with a score of 2:0.

Liverpool is in first place with 37 points. London Arsenal is in second place with 36 points. Birmingham’s Aston Villa are in the top three (35).
