IOC announces the number of Russians who can compete in the Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has talked about quotas for Russians to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris. The words of the organization representative are quoted as follows: “Soviet sport”.

“To date, athletes competing as individual neutral athletes (AINS) have secured eleven quota places for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Six of them are in wrestling, three in cycling, one in rowing and one in swimming.

“We can clarify that out of the eleven quota places received by AINS, six were won by Russian passport holders and five by Belarusian passport holders,” he said.

On December 8, the International Olympic Committee allowed athletes from Russia to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games with neutral status.

The IOC said Russian athletes will be required to sign updated conditions of participation, which include a commitment to respect the Olympic Charter, including the “peaceful mission of the Olympic movement”. Russian athletes who rank well in their disciplines will be allowed to compete.

Previously on the 2024 Olympic Games Organizing Committee hailed Acceptance of Russian athletes.
