“The only purpose of our athletes’ trip to Paris is to once again humiliate Russia and make fun of us for the IOC. We are already convinced that the West is a rotten people,” Laishev said.
On December 8, it was learned that Russians could go to the 2024 Olympics with neutral status. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said Russian athletes will be required to sign updated conditions of participation, which include a commitment to respect the Olympic Charter, including the “peaceful mission of the Olympic movement”. Russian athletes who rank well in their own disciplines will be allowed to compete.
