In the next match of the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Spartak Moscow lost to the Chinese Kunlun Red Star.

The match played in Mytishchi, at the Mytishchi Arena, ended with the victory of the Middle Kingdom team with a score of 5:3. Among the winners, 31-year-old Chinese forward Luke Lockhart scored twice, while 23-year-old Canadian Ryan Merkley, 28-year-old Canadian Levin Brusseau and 29-year-old Chinese forward Shui Fu scored again. Pavel Poryadin, Daniel Usmanov and Maxim Tsyplakov scored goals for the Moscow team.

This defeat was the fourth defeat for Alexei Zhamnov’s team in the last five matches. The red-whites continue to lead the Western Conference rankings with 51 points, ahead of Dynamo Moscow in additional indicators.

Kunlun sits ninth in the West standings with 31 points, four points out of the play-off zone. In the next match, the Chinese team will play at home against Avtomobilist Ekaterinburg.

Previously the Finnish team will miss KM-2025 in hockey if Russia adopts it.
