Local police in Ireland launched an investigation against former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor on suspicion of inciting ethnic hatred. This was reported by Telegram.
McGregor has previously spoken about the unrest in the country; He wrote on his social networks that if the government did not “guarantee Ireland’s security” he would do it himself.
Irish police have launched an investigation into the former UFC champion, suspecting him of spreading hate. On 23 November in Dublin, an Algerian man armed with a knife attacked passersby, injuring five people. Conor criticized the Irish government and its immigration policies.
34-year-old McGregor’s last fight was against American Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The meeting ended in the first round, as a result of which the Irishman suffered a broken leg.
At the end of October 2022, it was reported that McGregor could return to the Octagon no later than six months later. An athlete must be drug tested for six months and submit two negative tests before being allowed to compete.
