Former gymnast Laysan Utyasheva recalled a serious injury that could have brought her to the operating table, as doctors talked about the high probability of amputation of the affected leg. His words were quoted RIA News.

“I had a sore leg at the World Championships, but I was afraid to admit it to the coach because there is a huge bench and you cling to the opportunity with hands and feet. I woke up at night and felt pain. It got to the point where the Germans said only amputation was possible. This taught me to be reasonable,” Utyasheva said at the “Faces of Personal Brand” forum.

Gymnast, Honored Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics, multiple winner of Russian and international competitions, two-time European champion in team competitions (2002, 200), winner of the 2001/02 World Cup, winner of the 2002 CIS and Baltic Youth Games.

Utyasheva retired from acting in 2006 due to a knee injury. On November 25, 2012, she married actor and showman Pavel Volya. On May 14, 2013, in Miami, she gave birth to a son named Robert, on May 5, 2015, a girl named Sofia appeared in the family.
