After running her short program at the Grand Prix stage in Moscow, European champion Kamila Valieva explained why the skating was better than in Kazan and talked about how she wants to have a long sports career.
“Today was actually much better mentally than in Kazan. I understood better what I was doing as I made each move. I tried to make the whole program better step by step. I say again, I really want to run a marathon in this sport, not a sprint. It is better to proceed step by step rather than doing everything or nothing at once.
It’s not always the right shape to skate well. Unfortunately, this is clearly seen in education. But still, at the end of the training process, all the bad things were left there, the good ones had already been developed. “I will try to show my best in the free program.”
