Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin talked about his team’s devastating loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

“We didn’t play at all. We gave them a lot of space. Especially in the first period. We made mistakes and lost the puck. They didn’t do anything.

Matches like this happen. This is a wake-up call that we played wrong, we were in the wrong situation, we lost pucks and that cost us the game,” Ovechkin said after the game.

On November 25, Washington lost to Edmonton with a score of 0:5 in a regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL). Leon Draisaitl scored a goal.

Washington Capitals are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 22 points. Spencer Carbury’s side ended their five-game winning streak in a row. Edmonton is second to last in the Western Conference.

Ovechkin played in 17 games in the NHL this season and recorded 5 goals and 7 assists. The Russian striker could not score a goal in the last two matches.
