European swimming championship medalist Anna Egorova announced the start of the Russian championship by sharing a photo in her swimsuit on her social networks.
“I invite all St. Petersburg residents to come and support all athletes,” Egorova said under the photo.
Egorova won three bronze and two silver awards at the European Championships. The swimmer has been competing in the Russian national team since 2017.
At the European Championships in Budapest in May 2021, Egorova won a bronze medal in the 4×200 meter freestyle as part of the mixed relay team. She also won the bronze medal in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 8:26.56. Anna won the silver medal in the 400 meter freestyle.
The International Swimming Federation (FINA) banned Russian and Belarusian swimmers from competing under its auspices, even under a neutral flag, in March 2022.
Previously Smolov’s wife posted a photo on top.
