“We found a way to play our game. Chucky (Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren) was incredible. I don’t think we’re looking at the standings right now. “We’re playing as hard as we can, trying to get two points every game and move forward,” Ovechkin said.
The match ended with Capitals winning with a score of 4:3. Ovechkin scored his fifth goal this season. Among the winners, Belarusian Alexey Protas also recorded a goal and two assists. Russian Ivan Provorov scored one of the goals in Columbus.
Ovechkin played in 15 games in the NHL this season and recorded 5 goals and 7 assists. Following the game against the Blue Jackets, Washington extended its winning streak to four consecutive wins. The team is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
