New York Rangers’ Russian forward Artemy Panarin scored a goal in the match against New Jersey Devils. The Russian player increased his goal streak in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) to 15 consecutive games.

He thus set a new Rangers record by achieving the longest point streak since the start of the championship, surpassing the achievement of Rod Gilbert, who scored points in 14 consecutive starts in the 1972–73 season. The Russian also became the best in NHL history among all Russian players with a similar indicator. Before that, the record belonged to Dmitry Kvartalnov. He made his debut in the 1992-93 season with 14 assists in a row.

The Russian has appeared in 15 NHL games in total this season, scoring nine goals and 16 assists.

The leader of the league in the goal+pass system is Tampa’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov. He has 13 goals and 14 assists. In second place is JT Miller from Vancouver with 10+17. Elias Pettersson (8+19), another representative of Vancouver, completed the top three.

Kucherov’s two goals before helped Tampa came back from 0:2 down and took the victory from Edmonton.
