Olympic silver medalists in figure skating Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov announced the end of their professional careers.

“We do not interrupt sports activities, we finish them. Unfortunately, perhaps fortunately, we will no longer go to competitions, we will not go on stage,” Morozov said in the “Free Program” podcast on Channel One.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing, Tarasova and Morozov won silver medals in the doubles competition. They lost only to Chinese athletes. Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov took third place.

At the 2018 Games, Morozov and Tarasova also finished second in the team tournament.

The skaters also won two silver and one bronze medals at the world championships, as well as becoming European champions twice. The couple won the Russian Championship three times.

In the final of the Russian Grand Prix in the 2022/23 season, Tarasova and Morozov finished third, losing to the couples Anastasia Mishina / Alexander Gallyamov and Alexandra Boykova / Dmitry Kozlovsky.

Previously Irina Rodnina compared Russian Grand Prix in figure skating with housing department championship.
