Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is reportedly working long hours under pressure to reverse his team’s poor form.
- United have had a poor start to 2023/24
- Ten Hag would like to change things
- Security staff surprised by early start
WHAT HAPPENED? According to The Sun, the dedicated Red Devils coach regularly arrives at the club’s training headquarters in Carrington before 7am and often stays for several hours after the players have left. “No one can blame Ten Hag for a lack of commitment,” said a source. “Sometimes he arrives so early that he surprises security and the kitchen staff.” The report adds that although Ten Hag sometimes goes home for two hours in the afternoon, he tends to return to work until 8.30pm and invests as much time as possible in trying to improve the club’s fortunes.
THE BIG PICTURE: Ten Hag spoke about Marcus Rashford’s disappointing performances after the disastrous 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen in midweek, and he is not the only player struggling with his form. A 1-0 win over Luton did little to convince fans that the team has what it takes to turn around its fortunes in the near future, although United now sit sixth in the table, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham .

WHAT’S NEXT FOR UNITED? Ten Hag is hoping his excessive working hours will start to pay off, and the international break means he is now a few weeks away from the brutal Premier League and Champions League schedule to plan how he can turn things around.
