New York Rangers’ Russian forward Artemy Panarin approached the two league records set in the last century after the National Hockey League’s (NHL) regular season match with the Minnesota Wild (4:1).

Panarin scored one goal and had one assist in the match; He helped Lafreniere score the second goal for the New York club. The 32-year-old striker increased his total in the 2023/24 season to 22 (8 goals and 14 assists). The Russian scored in all 13 regular season games, becoming the eighth hockey player in team history to score 20 points in 12 or fewer games.

Thus, the Russian hockey player became the second player in Rangers history to score points in 13 consecutive matches since the beginning of the season. The leader is Rod Gilbert, who has made 14 appearances and points since the start of the 1972/1973 season. Panarin also came close to the Russian record, which currently belongs to Dinamo Minsk’s head coach Dmitry Kvartalnov – he was then a hockey player who played for the Boston Bruins in the 1992/1993 season and scored points in 14 consecutive matches.

The Rangers’ next game is on November 13 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Previously Panarin repeated Jagr’s success 17 years ago.
