Six track and field athletes out of 75 Russians, many of whom have already completed their sports careers, were disqualified for life at various times. These are runner Natalya Shekhodanova, walkers Igor Erokhin, Stanislav Emelyanov and Sergei Morozov, shot putter Irina Korzhanenko and javelin thrower Lada Chernova.
Eight representatives of the athlete staff are also serving disqualification penalties, three of whom receive life bans. These are coaches Vladimir Kazarin, Alexey Melnikov and Viktor Chegin. Valentin Balakhnichev, former president of the All-Russian Athletics Federation, was also disqualified for life.
