The father of Alexander Bolshunov, a three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing, said that a cannonball fell in the garden of his house in the Bryansk region. Bolshunov quotes his words “Championship”.
“It is not currently possible to live there for security reasons. I stop by once a week to check on the condition of the house whose walls once saved me. We now live in the Bryansk region, but in a different place,” Bolshunov said.
Bolshunov won the World Cup twice and won the Tour de Ski. At the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Russian won five medals, including three gold. He was the flag bearer of the Russian team at the closing ceremony of the games.
Bolshunov, like all Russian skiers, was suspended from participating in the last World Cup races and finished the 2021/22 season early, finishing second in the overall World Cup standings.
