Former player and coach of Spartak Moscow, Valery Gladilin, shared his expectations for the match that the red-whites will play against Krasnodar in the sixth round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Russian Cup group stage. He told socialbites.ca that Spartak’s only advantage is that the players are not sure of their place in the starting lineup for the next match and will try to show their maximum.
“Of course Spartak will play to win. The situation of the coach and the team is not very good, the team is in seventh place, this is not good. They’ve already reached the next stage in the cup and the match doesn’t matter that much. But Spartak does not have a core, a starting squad. 22 men are competing to get into the starting squad, and a well-played match gives everyone a chance to start the next match. So here “Spartak” has an advantage only in this regard: those who will participate in the application are not sure that they will be in the top 11 in the next round of the championship,” says Gladilin.
The match between Spartak and Krasnodar will be played on Wednesday, November 1. The match will start at 20.45 Moscow time.
