Team Spirit defeated Western European team Gaimin Gladiators in the grand final of The International 12, the main Dota 2 tournament of the year.
Under tournament rules, the winner became the first team to win three times. Team Spirit won the final series with a score of 3-0.
Team Spirit is represented by Denis Larl Sigitov, Magomed Collapse Khalilov, Yaroslav Miposhka Naydenov (all from Russia), Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk, Miroslav Mira Kolpakov (both from Ukraine).
The team became two-time champions of The International 12. Previously, in 2021, the team won the championship for the first time by beating LGD Gaming (China) 3-2 in the grand final of The International. Before Team Spirit, this success was achieved by OG from Western Europe (2018, 2019).
The prize fund for the winners of the tournament in 2023 was $1.4 million for the entire team. It is noteworthy that the final matches took place at the Climate Pledge Arena, where the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL) plays its home games.
