The parents of Liverpool footballer Luis Diaz have been kidnapped in northern Colombia. The country’s Prosecutor General’s Office reported this on its social networks.
“The Attorney General’s Office became aware that the parents of Colombian player Luis Diaz were kidnapped in the Barrancas region of La Guajira; “Thereupon, an expert team consisting of prosecutors, technical investigation officers and police and military investigators, the joint anti-kidnap unit, is taking urgent measures to establish the whereabouts of these people, determine the circumstances and find the perpetrators.”
According to Colombian media, the football player’s parents were kidnapped at a gas station.
Luis Diaz transferred from Porto to Liverpool in the summer of 2022. He had also performed in his hometown before.
Diaz played nine matches in the English Premier League (EPL) this season and scored two goals. Liverpool is in fourth place with 20 points.
On October 29, Jürgen Klopp’s men will play at Nottingham Forest.
